Diving regional: Four county divers finish in top eight, qualify for state

Four Hamilton County divers have qualified for the state finals after finishing in the top eight at the Fishers diving regional on Tuesday.
Three of those divers are from Fishers. Junior Will Jansen was the regional runner-up with a score of 488.88 points. Delta senior Sam Bennett won the regional title by scoring 551.25 points. Also advancing were junior Sebastian Otero, who took fourth with 435.66 points and freshman Jack Roby, who placed sixth with 394.68 points.
Hamilton Heights freshman Nathan Cox also qualified for state in his first try. Cox placed seventh at the regional by scoring 373.80 points.
Two Noblesville divers also competed at the regional. Freshman Evan Stingley took 11th with 314.25 points and junior Parker Mutter was 18th with 186.30 points.
The diving state meet will take place Saturday morning at the IU Natatorium in downtown Indianapolis.

SEVERAL SWIMS GET STATE CALLBACKS
As expected, several Hamilton County swimmers received callbacks to the state meet. The results became official when the IHSAA released heat sheets and psych sheets on Tuesday evening.

200 medley relay: Noblesville
200 freestyle: Tyler Schwertfeger, Fishers
200 individual medley: Noah Brauer, Westfield
50 freestyle: Christopher Holmes, Carmel; Andrew Robertson, Carmel; William Kok, Carmel
500 freestyle: Luke Whitlock, Noblesville; Tyler Schwertfeger, Fishers
100 backstroke: Logan Ayres, Fishers; Connor Lathrop, Carmel; Ryan Harrison, Hamilton Southeastern
100 breaststroke: Reed Beaumont, Fishers; Kellen Reese, Carmel; Aidan Biddle, Noblesville
400 freestyle relay: Westfield, Noblesville
