Westfield got a big win to finish the regular season, cruising past Frankfort 80-55 Tuesday at the Hot Dogs’ Case Arena.
The game was close in the first half. The Shamrocks led 13-8 after the first quarter, but Frankfort cut that advantage to 36-35 after a high-scoring second period. Westfield kept up the offensive intensity, pouring in 22 points in both the third and fourth quarters as it pulled away from the Hot Dogs.
Braden Smith had an incredible game, scoring 37 points and making all six of his 3-point attempts. Smith also had seven assists, six rebounds and four steals. Cam Haffner added 12 points, while Nic Depasquale contributed 10 points.
The ‘Rocks are 16-4 and have won their last five games. Westfield will play Tuesday in the first round of the Carmel sectional, taking on Zionsville in the night’s second contest.
