Smart College Selection welcomes Stephanie Aikins as new educational consultant

Local educational consulting firm expands to meet demand

Smart College Selection welcomes Stephanie Aikins to its college consulting team. Aikins will be responsible for working directly with high school students to help them identify their strengths, build strategic college lists, and create compelling and authentic college applications.

“We are overjoyed that Stephanie is joining Smart College Selection,” said Smart College Selection Founder Amy McVeigh. “She brings extensive counseling experience and deep knowledge of college options to the team.”

Aikins has 15 years of experience as a guidance counselor and a college counselor in public and private high schools, most recently at the International School of Indiana and previously at Carmel and Greenwood High Schools. She also worked as a college admissions officer for Franklin College and as a residence hall director at Western Michigan University.

“I joined Smart College Selection because I know that as an independent educational consultant, I will be able to make an even greater impact on each student than I could working in a school environment,” Aikins said.

Aikins has an M.S. in Counselor Education from Western Michigan University and a B.S. in Business Administration/Marketing from Valparaiso University. She is board certified as a counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors and is licensed in the state of Indiana as a school counselor. She holds memberships in the Indiana Association for College Admission Counseling and the National Association for College Counseling.
