Five Hamilton County divers advanced to the state finals after their performances at Tuesday’s IHSAA Hamilton Southeastern diving regional.
Fishers senior Morgan Casey won the regional title, scoring 467.35 points. She finished just ahead of another senior, Carmel’s Alaina Heyde, who totaled 461.20 points for second place.
Another Carmel diver, junior Darci Commons, took third with 430.20 points. The top eight divers move on to state from the regional; those first three will be joined by two more Fishers divers: Senior Natalie Bryan (sixth place, 367.50 points) and sophomore Gretchen Osmun (eighth place, 341.80 points).
Hamilton Southeastern sophomore Ella Penny placed ninth with 332.00 points, while Carmel freshman Melaina Munson tied for 13th with 223.15 points.
The state diving meet will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday at the IU Natatorium.
