Dear Editor:
As an independent voter, I offer my sincere thanks to Joe Weingarten for his many years leading the Democratic Party in Hamilton County.
As he steps aside, he can be proud of his work in assuring a second voice in public discourse. A strong, two-party system is more vital to the future of this nation, in my opinion, than even a strong military. Without two voices discussing issues and weighing priorities, we no longer have a republic to defend.
Thanks, Joe. Good luck in whatever future tasks you take on.
