July 12, 1956 – January 26, 2021
The Rev. William James “Buddy” Goss, 64, Danville, was called home on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, surrounded by his family. Buddy was born on July 12, 1956, to the late Paul Thomas and Mary Willie (Daniels) Goss in Indianapolis.
Buddy attended North Central High School. He married the love of his life Phyllis Ann (Crabtree) Goss on February 4, 1974, and they began their life together. He went to work for Schneider Trucking driving a truck. Soon after working long hours and being away for days from his family, he decided to move on from trucking and started working as a mechanic. While working as a mechanic, he was offered another opportunity to work for Fox Pools of Indianapolis, where he retired after 27 years of service.
Buddy always felt that he had a higher calling to serve his Lord and Savior, and he became a minister, serving at New Winchester Baptist Church until his retirement on August 16, 2021. Buddy loved his Lord and Savior, and not only did he share this with his congregation but with his family and friends.
He loved his family more than life itself and spending time with all of them was his greatest joy. Buddy leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Phyllis; his loving daughters, Annie (Ryan) Fagan, Sheridan, Becky (Phillip) Hiner, Fishers, Jennifer Tullock, Sheridan, and Rachel Goss, Danville. He was a proud and doting grandfather to Devin and Drew Mitchum, Ethan Tullock, and Addison, Bailey and Chloe Hiner. He was a loving brother to Joyce Cunningham, Frankfort, Geneva Haium, Indianapolis, and Mary Johns, Anderson; and he was a proud uncle to three nieces and five nephews whom he considered his own.
Funeral service for Buddy will be private; however, graveside service is open to the community immediately following the funeral. Burial will be at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan. Everyone is invited to view his service on Facebook Live at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021 at the Fisher Family Funeral Service Facebook page. The family would like to thank everyone for their many thoughts and prayers.
Everyone is invited to sign the online guestbook, leave a condolence or share a memory at fisherfunerals.com.
