Carmel sails past Ben Davis, 67-41

Carmel kept itself undefeated in the Metropolitan Conference on Friday by sailing past Ben Davis 67-41 at the Eric Clark Activity Center.
The Class 4A No. 4 Greyhounds got off to a good start, leading the Giants 19-6 after the first quarter. Carmel maintained that advantage at halftime, going into the locker room up 33-21. The ‘Hounds then had another solid defensive quarter, holding Ben Davis to nine points and leading 52-30 after three.
Peter Suder scored 20 points for Carmel and also handed out four assists. Charlie Williams added 12 points and collected seven rebounds. The Greyhounds had 17 team assists, with Josh Whack dishing out five and Connor Gioia handing out four.
Carmel is on top of the MIC standings with a 5-0 record, with Lawrence North the only other undefeated team at 4-0. The two teams will meet at the Wildcats’ gym on Thursday. The Greyhounds are 14-1 overall and are scheduled to play at New Castle this afternoon.
