Girls golf: ‘Rocks, Golden Eagles win three-team meets

The No. 1-ranked Westfield girls golf team continued its winning ways on Tuesday, beating Hamilton Southeastern and New Palestine in a three-team meet at Prairie View Golf Club.
The Shamrocks scored 160, with the No. 7 Royals shooting 164 and the Dragons carding 183. Westfield’s Jocelyn Bruch was the meet medalist with a 38. Cailyn Henderson and Adrienne Montalone both carded 40s. Margaret Wentz and Natalie Shupe both shot 42s, with Emma Clary scoring 43.
Chelsea Morrow and Haleigh Gray both carded 39s for the Royals. Dagny Gladwell added a 42 and Julia Eaton scored 44.
Westfield’s junior varsity team beat Western Boone 190-195 at Wood Wind Golf Club. Grace Snyder and Megan Barker both finished with 46. Cate Jensen scored 48 and Alli McEvoy carded 50.

Guerin Catholic and Hamilton Heights joined Mount Vernon for a three-team match at Arrowhead Golf Course on Tuesday.
The No. 19-ranked Golden Eagles won the meet with a 151, with the Marauders scoring 207 and the Huskies shooting 208. GC’s Gabby Gilrowski was the meet medalist with a 35. Angelica Pfefferkorn carded a 36, with Mckayla Tallman shooting 37. Other Guerin scores were Carly Hammons 43, Hailey Brown 45 and Rachel Fredericks 56.
Alyx Harley and Ellie Arrowood led Heights with 47s, followed by Kate Biggs 50 and Veronica Meredith 64.
