Sheridan got back on track Friday, using a big third quarter to beat host Delphi 44-29 in a Hoosier Heartland Conference game.
The Blackhawks led 12-7 after the first quarter, but the Oracles came back in the second period, tying the game at 16-16 by halftime. Sheridan took over in the third quarter, outscoring Delphi 17-2 to take a 33-18 lead by the end of the period, and maintained its advantage in the fourth.
Allie Delph and Emma Went both scored 13 points for the ‘Hawks. Lillie Dickerson added six points and Chaney Smith scored five.
Sheridan is 5-1 in HHC play, currently tied for second in the conference standings with Carroll. The two teams will play each other at Carroll on Tuesday. Clinton Prairie is 7-0 in the HHC and clinched at least a share of the conference title by beating Eastern on Thursday.
