The Westfield wrestling team finished up its dual season in solid fashion, beating Zionsville 33-26 at the Eagles’ gym on Wednesday.
Both teams won seven matches. The Shamrocks picked up bonus points in several bouts, with Dylan Driver (at 113 pounds), Thadeus O’Neill (126) and Dakota Arvin (220) all winning by fall. Braxton Vest took the 120-pound match with an 18-3 technical fall, finishing things up in 3:40. Vest is ranked eighth in his weight class and has won 21 straight matches.
Mike Platonov took the 285-pound match by major decision, while Ike O’Neill (132) and Gabe Arvin (195) both won by decision.
Westfield will host the Hoosier Crossroads Conference meet on Saturday.
