The Hamilton Heights boys basketball team got back on the court after nearly a month on Wednesday, traveling to Seton Catholic for its second game of the season.
The Huskies put on a show, overwhelming the Cardinals 94-75. It’s the highest point total for Heights since Jan. 18, 2013, when the Huskies scored 98 points against Eastern. Heights hadn’t played since their season opener on Nov. 28, as the Heights athletic department shut down all activities for a period.
The Huskies had no trouble getting back into game action, leading 21-13 after the first quarter and 51-36 at halftime. Heights outscored Seton Catholic in each period and had four players reach double figures in scoring.
Gus Etchison led the way, scoring 31 points on 13-of-17 shooting from the field. Lucas Letsinger added 14 points, Isaac Tuma had 11 and Luke Carroll scored 10. Braden Kinder threw in three 3-pointers for nine points; Etchison and Luke Pennington each hit two triples.
Carroll led the rebounds with eight, while Tuma collected six. Kinder had seven steals and four assists, Letsinger dished out five assists and Noah Linville made four steals.
Heights is 1-1 for the season and will host Western Boone on Jan. 2.
