Fishers won a battle of highly-ranked teams on Monday, as the Class 4A No. 5 Tigers came back to beat 2A No. 2 Frankton 71-62 at the Eagles’ gym.
The game was tied 14-14 after the first quarter, then Frankton pulled ahead by halftime, leading 28-25. Fishers came back to tie up the game again, at 42-42 by the end of the third period. The Tigers then ramped up their offense, scoring 29 points in the fourth quarter to win their 10th consecutive game.
Katie Burton led the Tigers with 31 points. With that effort, Burton became the all-time leading scorer (girls or boys) for Fishers basketball. Burton also had seven rebounds.
Audra Emmerson added 13 points and handed out seven assists. Olivia Smith had seven points, seven rebounds and four assists. Haley Gausepohl contributed eight points.
The Tigers are 11-1 for the season. Fishers will play next Tuesday at the Hall of Fame Classic in New Castle. The Tigers will take on Evansville Memorial, the No. 3 team in 3A, in the second semi-final game at 12:45 p.m., following the 11 a.m. opener between Mount Vernon and 3A No. 2 Norwell. The consolation game is set for 6 p.m., with the championship game at 7:45 p.m.

Shamrocks run win streak to four
Westfield continued its win streak on Tuesday, beating Brownsburg 48-39 in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game at The Rock.
The Shamrocks led 9-8 after the first quarter and 19-18 at halftime. Westfield pulled ahead in the third period, leading 31-24 by the end of the quarter. The ‘Rocks then added another 17 points in the fourth to clinch the game.
Alyssa Crockett scored 20 points and collected seven rebounds. Chesney Tebbe contributed 12 points and five rebounds, with Gigi Eldredge adding eight points, five rebounds and four steals.
Westfield is 2-1 in conference play and 7-3 overall. The ‘Rocks have another home game today, hosting Yorktown. Junior varsity tips off at 4 p.m., with the varsity starting around 5:30 p.m.

Millers cruise past Northwestern
Noblesville won a road game at Northwestern on Tuesday, 67-41.
The Millers led 16-11 after the first quarter, then shut out the Tigers in the second period, outscoring them 17-0 to lead 33-11 at halftime. Noblesville poured in another 25 points in the third quarter for a 58-26 lead.
