Carmel kept its perfect season going on Friday with a 56-49 Metropolitan Conference win at North Central.
The Class 4A No. 2 Greyhounds took control right away, leading 15-4 after the first quarter. Carmel extended its lead to 31-17 by halftime. The Panthers chipped away at the Greyhounds’ lead during the second half, but Carmel was able to stay comfortably ahead.
Brian Waddell had another fantastic night, scoring 20 points and pulling 12 rebounds to earn a double-double. Peter Suder added 14 points and was all over the stat line with five rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots. Josh Whack, Bryce Beery and Nick Frische each collected four rebounds.
Carmel is 2-0 in MIC play and 5-0 overall. The Greyhounds go on the road tonight for a game at New Albany.
