Shaffer: Not all residents celebrate Christmas season

Dear Editor:

Three cheers to Carmel city councilor Miles Nelson for noting, after hearing of all the taxpayer monies being spent on Christmas season events, that not all Carmel residents are Christians and many celebrate their own religious events during December and January.

In a city which bends over backwards claiming to be so open and inclusive and politically correct to exclude at least two major faiths is inexcusable ignorance in the extreme.

  1. Bill, of course Braianrd et. al. will interpret that to spend money on all the different events rather than cutting back the forced Christmas spending through taxes.
