This weekend, Sept. 2 through Sept. 3, the Indiana Fire Juniors are hosting the third annual Grand Park Cup Soccer Tournament for youth soccer teams ages 8U to 15U. The event features 343 teams from six states: Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio.
“WYSA/Indiana Fire Juniors is able to offer our members a world class facility, dedicated IFJ staff members and an incredible management system,” said WYSA/Indiana Fire Juniors executive director Mark Webber. “IFJ continues to grow and attract more players from the Midwest and beyond and we’re proud to be able to host the Grand Park Cup every year.”
The Grand Park Cup is anticipated to result in more than 21,600 visitors and 2,100 hotel room nights to the Hamilton County region.
“The large number of visitors to our city for an event of this size has a big impact on our local businesses,” said Westfield Mayor Andy Cook. “Every year there are new tournaments that come to Grand Park, but for me the success of Grand Park is shown by the events that return year after year because those tournaments help Westfield’s tourism industry grow.”
Games take place from 8 a.m. until around 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2 and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3.
