Pickup truck crashes into Noblesville home, driver perishes

At approximately 10:47 a.m. on Tuesday, police officers and firefighters from the Noblesville Police and Fire Departments responded to the 15300 block of Union Chapel Road to a report of a vehicle crashing into the rear of a residence, located at 15372 Atkinson Drive.

Based on witness statements and other potential evidence at the scene, a 2020 Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling southbound on Union Chapel Road, just south of Greenfield Avenue, prior to the crash. Initial investigative information suggests that the Ford pickup left the right side of the roadway and traveled approximately 500 feet before crashing into the rear of the residence. There were no occupants in the residence.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and immediately worked to treat and extricate the driver from the vehicle. The driver was freed a short time later and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police investigators were summoned to the scene to collect evidence and gather information. The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time, and a medical emergency has not been ruled out. The cause of death will be determined by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.

The driver of the Ford will be identified once family notifications have been made. There were no passengers in the vehicle.
