Sheridan finished its regular season at Carroll on Friday, where the Cougars beat the Blackhawks 38-22 in a Hoosier Heartland Conference game.
Carroll led 13-6 after the first quarter; Cameron Hovey got Sheridan on the board with a one-yard touchdown run. But the Cougars added 13 more points in the second period to take a 26-6 halftime lead.
“We just didn’t have it for some reason,” said Blackhawks coach Bud Wright.
Keenan Warren added two more touchdowns for Sheridan in the second half. Warren scored on a six-yard run in the third quarter, then rushed into the end zone from 10 yards with 27 seconds left in the fourth. Both touchdowns were followed by two-point conversion runs; Gavin Reners made the run in the third quarter and Peyton Cross got the two points in the fourth.
Cross finished the game with 170 yards rushing.
The Blackhawks finished HHC play with a 2-3 record and are 4-4 overall. Sheridan returns home to Bud Wright Stadium next Friday to play Tindley in the first round of Class 1A Sectional 46.
