Volleyball: Blackhawks beat North Montgomery

The Sheridan volleyball team beat North Montgomery in four sets on Wednesday, 25-18, 14-25, 25-22, 25-21.
Allie Delph led the way for the Blackhawks with 15 kills, eight digs and three aces. Taylor Bates had another solid all-around match, contributing 29 assists, six kills, five digs, four blocks and three aces. Abbi Clouse added six digs and two aces, while Jacquellynne Bates collected 16 digs to go with two aces.
Emma Went hit seven kills and made six digs. Lillie Dickerson added six kills and Payton Warren hit four kills. Kaiden Wilson made a game-high five blocks.
The Sheridan junior varsity lost in three sets, 25-14, 17-25, 15-11. Lilly Chesney had nine digs, four aces and four assists. Kendra Blankenship spiked seven kills. Hailey Curry added seven digs and four assists. Kayla Beahrs collected 12 digs, Claudia Headlee had eight and Laney Inman had six.
In between the JV and varsity matches, Sheridan honored senior Allie Delph for joining the “500 Club.” Delph has played in 299 sets as a four-year varsity starter, and has career totals of 577 kills, 575 serve points and 520 digs.
The Blackhawks will host Hamilton Heights tonight in their regular-season finale, with a 6 p.m. junior varsity start time.
