The Hamilton Southeastern volleyball team won two matches at the North vs. South Showdown Saturday at Noblesville High School.
First, the Royals swept Columbus East 25-16, 25-23, 25-15. Lauren Harden hit 14 kills for Southeastern, followed by Delaney Garner with nine kills, and Lovie Wallace and Avery Hobson with seven each.
Carly Mills collected 17 digs, while Meghan Slaninka added eight digs. Olivia Phillips dished out 19 assists, which gave her 2,507 for her career, breaking the HSE assist record.
“Olivia has been a special player for the past four years,” said Royals coach Jason Young. “I am so happy for her on this well-earned and deserved honor.”
In its second match, Southeastern swept Center Grove 25-10, 25-9, 25-20. Two Royals players reached milestones during the match: Garner hit five kills to move past the 700 career kills mark. She also served four aces.
“Delaney is such a special player for us,” said Young. “She has been tremendous the last three years. I am so thrilled for her.”
Mills made eight digs, which pushed her over the 1,500 career digs mark.
“Carly has already broken the all-time dig mark at Hamilton Southeastern,” said Young. “I am thrilled for her in this career mark. She has been a terrific player for us and this year has been a remarkable leader.”
Harden led the Royals offense with 13 kills, while Wallace added 10 kills. Phillips handed out 19 assists and spiked six kills, while Emily Weber dished out 15 assists. On defense, Emi Robinson collected 12 digs, Taylor Lauri had eight digs and four aces, and Slaninka served four aces.
Southeastern remains unbeaten at 18-9 and hosts Westfield on Monday.
