Guerin Catholic broke a three-game losing streak on Friday, defeating Northview 19-0 at the Eagles Nest.
The Golden Eagles had been held without a point in its last two games, but finally got back on the board in the first quarter. Jagger Albert scored on a three-yard touchdown run, and Addison Lushin kicked the extra point.
Guerin Catholic added a touchdown in each of the next two quarters. Albert struck again in the second period with a 35-yard run, then Ryan Glenn caught a 28-yard scoring pass from Sam Miller in the third quarter.
Albert had a solid night on the ground, gaining 154 yards in 26 carries. Miller completed 7 of 10 pass attempts for 68 yards, while Glenn had three catches.
The Golden Eagles improved to 2-3 with the victory. Guerin Catholic is scheduled to be idle next week; the Golden Eagles were to play Brother Rice from Michigan, but the game had to be canceled after Michigan moved its high school football season to the spring.
Guerin Catholic’s next scheduled game will be on Oct. 16, when it welcomes Culver Academies to the Eagles’ Nest. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m.
