Volleyball: Royals stay perfect with win over Millers

The Hamilton Southeastern volleyball team won an all-county and Hoosier Crossroads Conference match with Noblesville on Thursday in three sets, 25-11, 25-9, 25-21.
Delaney Garner and Lovie Wallace both hit eight kills to lead the Royals’ offense. Lauren Harden added seven kills, while Avery Hobson had six kills. On defense, Carly Mills collected 20 digs and Taylor Lauri had eight digs. Emily Weber dished out 20 assists and hit five kills.
Ella Peter had eight kills for the Millers, with Rose Crist spiking seven. Gabby Weihe had two kills and Ava Harris hit one. Riley Branch handed out 15 assists. Bella Hines served two aces and Peter had one.
Diana Cox led the Noblesville defense with seven digs, followed by five each for Crist and Abby Johnson, and four for Ava Rundle. Peter, Hines and Weihe each made one block.
Southeastern is 5-0 in the conference and 16-0 overall, while the Millers are 1-4 in HCC play and 6-13 overall.
Both the Royals and the Millers will compete in the North vs. South Showdown, which takes place at The Mill in Noblesville on Saturday. Center Grove and Columbus East will also be playing.

Carmel rallied from a set down to beat Bishop Chatard on Thursday in four sets, 21-25, 25-11, 25-11, 25-19.
Ella Brooks hit 14 kills and collected six digs for the Greyhounds, while Macarty McQueen had 14 digs, 13 kills and two aces. Caroline Yuska hit five kills and four aces. Ella Bostic dished out 45 assists and served two aces.
Carmel is 16-8 and hosts Kokomo next Thursday for its regular-season finale.
