“It’s no secret that we’ve got two strong upperclassmen on the outside for us,” said Fishers coach Steven Peek. “And there are moments we have to lean on them to get us successfully out of out-of-system situations. Emily and Jada excelled at that this evening.”
Camryn Haworth dished out 37 assists. After the two outside hitters, Ava Vickers smacked eight kills, Mikayla Carpenter had six and Grace Dunnuck hit three.
On defense, junior libero Samantha Perdue led with 13 digs. Jill Snyder collected nine digs, Haworth had eight and Olivia Lux had seven.
“It’s massive for us to have five players at seven or more digs,” said Peek. “To defend in this conference, and eventually in this Sectional, you’ve got to have your team working cohesively. The players are going to have to execute multiple adjustments to get us across the finish line, and they did that tonight.”
