BEHN Gallery will hold a ribbon cutting and grand opening in the Village of West Clay on Saturday, Sept. 26. The community is invited to attend and enjoy fine art, Irish music, and the opportunity to meet the artists.

“BEHN is not a traditional fine arts gallery,” said co-owner Roben Bellomo. “The environment is very welcoming. It’s a place where people can feel comfortable asking questions and learning about art from the artists themselves.”

BEHN gallery is driven by the artistic talents of Carmel photographer Roben Bellomo and Dallas-based photographer Jim Hamel, along with other distinguished guest artists – both local and global. Further, BEHN is proudly affiliated with Bellomo Studios, which is renowned for its craftsmanship in creating photographic prints, small business branding imagery, and emotionally-driven commission pieces. The space will feature work from both the award-winning artist-owners.

“The artwork in the gallery will rotate,” Hamel said. “We don’t intend to put up our greatest hits and leave them there, but rather create an evolving collection of limited-edition pieces. Our goal is to introduce art into people’s lives in a way that helps them feel connected and creatively energized.”

In addition to art, the pair plans to offer art education, multi-sensory events, networking opportunities, overseas excursions and more. In fact, plans are underway for photography trips to France and Ireland in 2022, hence the selection of entertainment for the grand opening event.

The ribbon cutting will include bagpipes at 10:30 a.m.; to be immediately followed by live Irish music at the gazebo on University Green in the Village of West Clay – across the sidewalk from the studio. Irish Arts Academy of Indianapolis will perform from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Croghan’s Crossing will perform from 3 to 7 p.m. Guests are invited to take turns touring the gallery and chatting with the artists. Limited edition artwork, special edition folios, portrait packages, and gift cards will be available for purchase.

BEHN Gallery is located at 2149 Glebe St., Suite 100. Those planning to attend the grand opening are asked to wear face masks inside the gallery and when social distancing is not possible.
