The Westfield girls golf team won a dual meet with Tipton 141-163 Wednesday at Tipton Golf Course.
The third-ranked Shamrocks were two strokes away from a school record for nine holes, and made 11 birdies as a team. Samantha Brown was the meet medalist with a two-under par 33, while Allie McKeown made four birdies on her way to a one-under 34.
Other Westfield scores were Sophie McGinnis 36, Cate Jensen 38, Mallory Mortl 39 and Brette Hanavan 40.
The ‘Rocks are next in action Saturday at the Roncalli Invitational at Smock Golf Course.
Hamilton Southeastern, ranked seventh in the state, also got a Wednesday dual meet victory, beating Pendleton Heights 164-185 at Stony Creek Golf Course.
Kaley McHaffie was the meet medalist with a 38. Other scores were Katy Pippenger 41, Cora Zink 42, Lauren Stewart 43, Annabelle Willard 45, Gabby Willard 46, Ella Biu 46 and Reese Hissong 47.
