The Tom & Soni Sheehan Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville will hold the fifth annual Cornhole Tournament this Friday, Aug. 7, presented by Sysco Foods of Indianapolis. Check-in will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the first round of play starting at 12:30 p.m. at Forest Park Shelter No. 1.
The afternoon will consist of a three-game guarantee to include a double-elimination tournament and a “toilet bowl” bracket. Competitive play will culminate in a championship game paying out cash prizes to first and second place. Each participant will receive a commemorative T-shirt and an entry into a door prize drawing. All players are invited to bring their own adult beverages, and multiple silent auction packages will be offered.
This year’s event will look a little different to ensure the safety of everyone in attendance. All attendees will be asked to bring their own chairs and spread out while social distancing at the park. Before and after each cornhole game, players will be required to use the provided hand sanitizer. Players will also be allowed to bring their own bags if they prefer. Masks will be encouraged but not required.
“Each year, our event has successfully grown under the shade of Forest Park,” said BGCN Sports Director Tony Eslamirad. “Those who attend not only have the opportunity to network and relax on a Friday afternoon, but they are making a difference in the lives of over 2,400 local kids that utilizes the Club’s services. In the past four years, the event has raised nearly $30,000 for our Club Kids.”
The registration fee per team of two will be $60 with all proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville. Teams may register online by noon on Thursday at bgcni.org. For more information, contact the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville at (317) 773-4372 or email teslamirad@bgcni.org.
