In the path of progress or historical gem worth restoring? That’s the question facing Carmel officials and housing developers. At issue is the 164-year old Hull-Brennan House near Smoky Row Road and Keystone Parkway. A wing of the house is a pioneer cabin built in the 1830s. Historians say the structure is of architectural and historical significance. Beazer Homes plans 160 new homes on the 59-acre site that includes the old dwelling. Negotiations are underway to try to save the house.
