Dorothy Ruth Reners

March 14, 1926 – June 30, 2020

Dorothy Ruth Reners, 94, Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday evening, June 30, 2020 at Riverwalk Village of Noblesville. Born March 14, 1926 in Vermillion County, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Cora (Spurr) Inman.

Dorothy enjoyed traveling and the adventures that would unfold during her trips. Louisiana and Canada were some of her usual haunts, but her favorite destinations involved visiting family, especially when it came to her grandkids. She also enjoyed going camping and fishing, and was an avid gardener.

Dorothy also liked to play cards, and when she played, she played to win. She had a fierce competitive streak and would not settle for second place. She enjoyed many different card games, but euchre was her favorite. When she was feeling particularly lucky, Dorothy would visit one of her favorite casinos and try to beat the house.

Dorothy is survived her sons, William “Billy” Joe Reners (Sharon), Sheridan, and Jerry Reners (Saundra), Noblesville; her daughter, Marsha Elder Kemp (William, Jr.), Noblesville; seven grandchildren, Bill Reners (Aurda), Jeff Watkins (Maggie), Tonya Wetmore (Kyle), George Reners (Erin), Stacey Abbott (Allen), Mark Blankenship and Sean Rostiser; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Samuel Inman, Clinton, Ind.; and sister, Jerra Bonebrake, Mesa, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ed Reners; great-grandchild, Nicholas; sister-in-law, Janice Inman; brother-in-law, John Bonebrake; her husband, William Reners; and by her longtime loving companion, Junior Lee Bauer.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Boxley Cemetery in Boxley, Ind.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kercheval Funeral Home in Sheridan.
