Golf and Batting Center re-opens for community fun
After a three-month closure, Janus Developmental Services Inc. will begin to welcome back clients. According to Janus, the first group will start coming back on Monday, June 22.
During the closure, Janus offered Zoom classes for its clientele.
The Zoom classes covered everything from making an English muffin pizza to sign language bingo to using pool noodles to make flowers and even exercise classes.
Janus staff said it was always nice to see clients on the screen talking, laughing, interacting with each other and participating in the class; however, it is going to be even better to have them in the building again.
Janus also announced the re-opening of the Janus Golf and Batting Center for the 2020 season. Located at 17400 Willowview Road and adjacent to the Janus facility on Westfield Road/State Road 32 in Noblesville, the recreational center has undergone numerous improvements. The improvements to the center were made possible by generous grants, donations and volunteer groups who assisted Janus staff with the renovation of the 19.2-acre facility.
In recent months, the local Lowes store donated outdoor putting green carpeting in addition to organizing a group of the Lowes Heroes volunteers to work on the putt putt area. Grant funding from the Wadsworth Golf Charities Foundation and the Samerian Foundation enabled additional improvements to the facility as well as facilitated the purchase of new equipment.
The facility offers a mini golf course, driving range and batting cages. Janus Golf and Batting will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
