Congressional candidates appear in virtual debate

For those folks interested in learning more about the 15 candidates for U.S. Congress in the June 2 Republican primary, a virtual debate is now available on the county GOP website.

Each of the candidates in the crowded field of 5th District hopefuls appears and answers questions on issues in this year’s election. The 15 are vying to replace retiring Congresswoman Susan Brooks.

The novel idea of a virtual debate was initiated by the Carmel, Westfield and Noblesville Republican clubs. It was created for the first time this year because of the statewide shutdown on large gatherings.

The record number of candidates include: Kent Abernathy, Andrew Bales, Micah Beckwith, Carl Brizzi, Allen Davidson, Chuck Dietzen, Beth Henderson, Matthew Hook, Matthew Hullinger, Kelly Mitchell, Danny Niederberger, Mark Small, Victoria Spartz, Russell Stwalley and Victor Wakley.
