Chlora Beth Rees

February 8, 1926 – March 7, 2020

Chlora Beth Rees, 94, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, made her final journey to Heaven on Saturday, March 7, 2020.

Beth was born February 8, 1926, in Noblesville – back when Noblesville was nothing but gravel roads and country fields. As a freshman at Fortville High School, she met the love of her life, Albert “Bud” Rees. After Bud graduated and enlisted in the Army, Beth waited patiently for two years while Bud helped liberate Western Europe. Bud returned to the United States in January 1946, and the two were married on January 30. They settled in Noblesville in a home they built, room by room. They raised two sons, Mark and David, and together built a family on the foundation of love, respect and lots of laughter. The pair recently celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary – a milestone that Beth was incredibly proud of. The two were more than a married couple, they were partners and they did everything together, honoring the vows they made so long ago.

Beth was a payroll clerk for Firestone Industrial Products in Noblesville before retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Fishers and a member of the Cyntheanne Road Church. Beth enjoyed fishing and crafts and travel – anywhere Bud would go, she was on board and ready for their next adventure! Their favorite trips were to Alaska and Canada. They also spent 25 winters at Lake Okeechobee where they fished, played cards and made many good friends. Beth was very well known for her cooking and her incredible recipes – she could cook everything from wild game to grapefruit pie!

Beth was most proud of her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Beth is survived by her husband, Bud; her son, Mark (Karen) Rees; daughter-in-law, Marilyn; her grandchildren, Todd (Rachel) Rees, Jennifer (Troy) Carolan and Joshua (Kara) Rees; and her great-grandchildren, Morgan, Cheaney, Rayel, Jolie, Ava, Easton, Waylon and Willow.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Scott Rees.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the funeral home, with burial following at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278; or Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent, 8402 Harcourt Road, Suite 210, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
