Huskies edged out by Delta

Hamilton Heights lost a tough sectional championship game at New Castle on Saturday, as the Huskies were edged out by No. 8-ranked Delta 42-41 in the Class 3A Sectional 24 final.
The Eagles led 7-5 after the first quarter, but Heights took the lead by halftime, going up 20-16. Camron Knott and Lucas Letsinger both made two 3-pointers in the second period, this after Knott had a triple in the first quarter.
The Huskies extended their lead to 30-25 after three periods, and were still ahead 39-37 with 1:25 left in the fourth. But Delta would soon pull ahead and was able to hold the lead in the final seconds.
Gus Etchison was Heights’ top scorer with 18 points, followed by Knott with 14 points, including four 3-pointers. Hudson Hochstedler collected six rebounds and handed out six assists, while Etchison pulled five rebounds.
The Huskies finished their season 16-9.
