Hamilton Heights dropped a hard-fought Hoosier Conference championship game at Lafayette Central Catholic 68-61 Friday.
The Class 1A No. 5 Knights led 13-9 after the first quarter and 37-27 at halftime. The Huskies played even with Central Catholic in the second half, but the Knights were able to keep their lead.
Gus Etchison led Heights with 22 points, followed by Camron Knott’s 12 points and Lucas Letsinger’s 11 points. All three Huskies players made three 3-pointers. Etchison also handed out seven assists. Hudson Hochstedler led the rebounds with five, and also had five assists and four steals.
The Huskies are 13-7 and finish second in the conference. Heights returns home tonight to play Tri-West.
