Ethan Knoll, Hamilton Heights senior, has signed a letter of intent to play football for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana. Rose-Hulman is a member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and a Division III athletic institution. He is the son of Adam and Nicole Knoll.
Knoll, a multi-sport athlete who currently holds five varsity letters in football and track, will be the second generation of Knolls to attend Rose-Hulman and play football. This (Indiana Football Coaches Association (IFCA) Academic All State, Offensive Lineman of the Year, All Conference Team member and Mental Attitude of the Year Award recipient, is proud to be following in his father’s footsteps.
Knoll says he’s been hooked on football since the first grade. He credits the opportunity to take his game to the collegiate level to hard work, camps and training, spending a lot of time in the weight room and the support and guidance of his dad. “My dad has been my mentor, coach and inspiration from the beginning,” said Ethan Knoll, who plans to study either computer science or engineering science. He has also excelled in the classroom, is a member of the National Honor Society and actively involved with the White River Christian Church Youth Group.
“Ethan has been a two-year starter on the offensive and defensive line,” said Jon Kirschner, Hamilton Heights Head Football Coach. “His year-round work ethic has allowed him to be ready for this next chapter in his school and playing career. Whether it was the weight room or the practice field, Ethan was someone you could depend on to execute with everything he had. Having taught Ethan in AP Economics, I know he will be very successful at Rose-Hulman on and off the field! The coaching staff and the rest of the team wish him nothing but success at the next level.”
“We are very proud of Ethan and the opportunity he has earned as a Hamilton Heights student/athlete to continue his football career at a top-notch academic school such as Rose-Hulman,” added Kurt Ogden, Hamilton Heights Athletic Director. “This is proof that hard work in the classroom pays dividends. We wish him well as he takes the next step with his career.”
