September 28, 1951 – February 3, 2020
Marthann Greeman, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 3, 2020 at the age of 68. Born September 28, 1951 in Noblesville, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Kathleen (Owen) McMurtry.
Marthann graduated from Indiana University in 1983 with a degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Tipton Hospital for many years prior to going to work at the office of Dr. Vincent Delumpa. Marthann was a wonderful nurse who took her job and the responsibilities that came with it very seriously. She retired from nursing in 2015.
Marthann was a devoted mother. She was always present for her kids’ and grandkids’ activities, even if she had worked all day. When she wasn’t attending her grandkids’ events, you could usually find her watching sports on TV. She loved all things Indiana University, especially Hoosier basketball. Cream and Crimson may have taken priority in the winter, but her summers were dedicated to the Cubs and the fall to her beloved Chicago Bears. Marthann was also an avid reader who loved getting lost in a good book. She also enjoyed taking lake trips with her family and getting in a little fishing while she was there.
She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Marthann is survived by her loving husband, Phil Greeman. She and Phil were high school sweethearts and were married on August 31, 1969. They celebrated 50 years of marriage this past August.
Also surviving are her two daughters, Katie Deboy (Jason), Mulberry, Ind., and Lori Barrett (Blaine), Frankfort; six grandchildren, Nolan, Maggie, Avree, Aidan, Anson and Amrin; her brother, William McMurtry (Gayla), Sheridan; and her sister, Kay Yeager (Merlyn), Spencer, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jeannie and Jane; and one brother, Tom.
A celebration of Marthann’s life will take place at 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan, with visitation from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Pastor Jeremy Turner will be officiating.
Memorial contributions in her honor may be presented to the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association.
