Shandi Vance

June 5, 1980 – January 31, 2020

Shandi Vance, 39, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31 after a very short battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Danville, Ind., on June 5, 1980.

Shandi graduated from Noblesville High School in 2001 and was a member of the Noblesville High School choir, which she won many awards for throughout her years.

Shandi was born with a rare genetic disorder called Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome. She beat all the odds early on and lived her life to the very fullest. Shandi was employed with Janus Developmental Services for 18 years and absolutely loved going to work every day. She thoroughly enjoyed spending her Saturdays every week with her mother, Chris, and her Aunt Cheryl, and looked forward to all the fun things they did together each week. Shandi especially enjoyed the many trips they took to the zoo, the Hamilton County 4-H Fair each year and absolutely loved to go shopping! Shandi was a huge Disney fan, loved all Disney princesses, and had a love for listening and singing to music.

She is survived by her loving and devoted mother, Chris Vance; her father, Kevin Vance; her sister, Stacie (Brooke) Swinford; her brother, Wesley (Athena) Vance; a nephew, Chance; and two nieces, Hannah and Hollie. Shandi is also survived by her biological father, Fred Obrien; two half-sisters; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by both sets of her paternal and maternal grandparents.
