Guerin Catholic’s boys dropped a 51-41 game to Lafayette Central Catholic Friday in its Senior Night game at the Eagles Nest.
The Knights led 17-10 after the first quarter. The Golden Eagles cut LCC’s lead to 26-23 by halftime, but the Knights outscored Guerin Catholic in each of the next two quarters, leading 37-31 after three.
Bernie McGuinnes scored 16 points to lead the Golden Eagles, and also collected five rebounds. Kaleb Edwards had a good all-around game with 10 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Guerin Catholic is 12-5 and hosts North Central in an afternoon game next Saturday, Feb. 8.
In the girls game, Guerin Catholic fell to Lafayette Central Catholic 53-41. Stats were unavailable at press time.
