Heights girls run away with Hoosier Conference third-place game

Hamilton Heights’ girls team ran away with the third-place game of the Hoosier Conference on Friday, cruising past Rensselaer Central 68-42 at the Huskies’ gym.
Heights took care of business early, leading 23-11 after the first quarter. The Huskies outscored the Bombers in each period, going up 42-25 at halftime.
Three players reached double figures for Heights, led by Jillian Osswald with 27 points. Osswald made all 11 of her free throw attempts and also handed out six assists. Bayleigh Runner made three 3-pointers on her way to 14 points, also making seven steals and dishing out six assists.
Payton Dissett added 11 points and MyKayla Moran led the rebounds with six.
“Great team effort,” said Huskies coach Keegan Cherry.
Heights is 13-10 for the season and finishes up the regular season Thursday by hosting Lafayette Jefferson.
