Guerin Catholic scored a nice bounce-back win on Saturday, beating Martinsville 61-38 Saturday at the Eagles Nest.
The Golden Eagles led 15-5 after the first quarter, then held off a second-period run by the Artesians to hold a 22-18 advantage at halftime. Guerin Catholic then sailed through the second half, outscoring Martinsville 39-20.
Kaleb Edwards had a huge game, scoring 20 points and collecting five rebounds. Joseph Bobilya added 13 points, including two 3-pointers, while Bernie McGuinness added 10 points and pulled six rebounds. Jack Parenteau also had five rebounds.
The Golden Eagles honored the 10th anniversary of their 2010 sectional championship team, the first one ever to win a basketball sectional title.
The Golden Eagles are 11-3 and play a girls-boys Circle City Conference doubleheader Friday at Brebeuf Jesuit.
