“Kelly Mitchell is a results-oriented leader with a record of success in local and statewide office,” said Ake. “Her ability to find and bring the right people to the table in order to solve issues facing Hoosiers is a skill sorely needed in Washington. I’m proud to call Kelly a friend and support her campaign for Congress.”

A 20-year resident of Hamilton County, Ake served as a Westfield City Councilor from 2012 to 2019. Ake lives in Westfield with his wife Mary. The couple has two sons. He has spent his career as a business owner and a high-level sales executive. He attends St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.

Ake was involved with the inception of the Westfield Youth Assistance Program; is President of the Westfield Economic Development Foundation; the Westfield-Washington Township Public Safety Building Corp.; is a member of Westfield CERT; has chaired the Westfield WeCAN Trash and Recycling Committee; has served as the president of a 1,200-resident subdivision; and he is an active member of the Rotary Club of Westfield, where he serves as the club’s Treasurer and Foundation Chairman. Most recently he has been appointed to the Westfield Board of Public Works.
