Carmel carjackers flee to Indianapolis, one suspect caught

At 7:12 a.m. Friday, Carmel police responded to the 300 block of Haydn Drive on a reported carjacking. Haydn Drive is near the intersection of 146th Street and Spring Mill Road.

Officers learned that two light-skinned black males approached another man and demanded his 2019 Chevrolet Traverse and his wallet. A handgun was displayed, but no one was injured during the carjacking. The two men fled in the Chevrolet.

Officers converged on the area, but they could not immediately locate the men nor the Chevrolet. A short while later, Indianapolis police officers located the Chevrolet on the northwest side of Indianapolis and stopped it. The two men fled on foot.

The second man remains at large. He is only described as a light-skinned black male.
