Another Friday night, another overtime win for Carmel.
The Greyhounds hosted North Central for a Metropolitan Conference game at the Eric Clark Activity Center, and needed an extra period to get past the Panthers. But Carmel got the victory 46-39, picking up its first MIC win of the season.
The ‘Hounds led 13-7 after the first quarter and 18-10 at halftime. But North Central worked its way back into the game in the second half, cutting Carmel’s lead to 27-24 after three quarters. The game was tied at 38-38 at the end of regulation, but the Greyhounds dominated the overtime, outscoring NC 8-1.
Peter Suder reached double-double status, scoring 18 points and pulling 15 rebounds. Conner Gioia had a solid game with eight points, five rebounds and five assists, while Charlie Williams also collected five rebounds.
Carmel is 1-1 in MIC play and 4-2 overall. The Greyhounds host New Albany tonight.
