The swearing in of Carmel’s newly elected and re-elected public officials took place Wednesday at the Monon Community Center. Officials were sworn into office by Indiana Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch. This event was history-making as Carmel completes its transition to a second-class city by adding a new voting district, two new council members and the first City Clerk. The ceremony lasted about an hour and refreshments followed.
