Huskies upset No. 4 Norwell

Hamilton Heights picked up its biggest win of the season on Saturday, upsetting Class 3A No. 4 Norwell 56-51 in a home game.
The Huskies never trailed in the game. Heights led 11-5 after the first quarter and 29-16 at halftime. The Knights cut into the Huskies’ lead during the second half, but Heights was able to stay comfortably ahead.
Jillian Osswald scored 20 points, including a 10-of-10 performance from the free-throw line. Also reaching double figures were Bayleigh Runner with 18 points and MyKayla Moran with 13 points.
“MyKayla Moran was awesome,” said Huskies coach Keegan Cherry. “She has been really good over the past several games. She does so many things that often go unnoticed, but if she isn’t doing them (both ends) then we don’t win like we have.”
Cherry also said that Osswald was “clutch” at the line down the stretch, and “Bayleigh was Bayleigh,” that she ran the show.
Moran collected six rebounds, with Osswald pulling five. Runner dished out six assists.
Heights is 5-4 and plays a Hoosier Conference game Tuesday at 3A No. 1 Northwestern.
