Carmel resident forms new law firm

Long-time local attorneys Kimberly D. Jeselskis, BJ Brinkerhoff and Hannah Kaufman Joseph have partnered to form the new Indianapolis law firm, Jeselskis Brinkerhoff and Joseph, LLC (“JBJ Legal”).

“The traditional law firm model is a dinosaur. Clients dread the billable hour and have come to think of lawyers as a necessary evil rather than a trusted adviser and business partner,” explained Joseph. “However, at JBJ Legal, we know there’s a better way. We are providing those cost-effective, responsive and dynamic legal services to our clients.”

JBJ Legal provides full-service legal representation to entrepreneurs, individuals and growth-oriented organizations for all their business, employment and litigation needs. Entrepreneurs, small business owners and individuals need a new way to work with sophisticated legal professionals. The business of practicing law is changing rapidly with the advent of automation, self-service legal options, and increasing competition in the marketplace.

“We recognize one size doesn’t fit all,” said Jeselskis. “We work to understand what the client needs and find them the solution that fits their situation, budget, and goals. Our practice is much more than putting a client into a template formula and strategy.”

Also avoiding the traditional law firm’s idea of location, JBJ Legal is likely the largest law firm in Indianapolis working out of a co-working space, Industrious Mass Ave.

“We may remain in this non-traditional space,” shared Brinkerhoff. “Like us, co-working feels approachable, energetic, progressive and reflects our personalities. The atmosphere is collaborative and solution-oriented, not unnecessarily competitive.”

Kimberly D. Jeselskis focuses her practice on employment and labor law. She represents both individuals and employers in a wide range of employment law, labor law, and benefits matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), wage and overtime violations, and wrongful termination. She also advises and represents clients with severance agreements, executive agreements and restrictive covenants, such as non-compete, non-solicitation, confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements. Her practice encompasses all aspects of the employment relationship – from hiring to termination and post-employment issues. As a Registered Civil Mediator, she also mediates employment related disputes. She also owns KDW Marketing with her husband. Learn more at jbjlegal.com/kimberlydjeselskis.
