The greater Northern Hamilton County community is invited to attend a special ribbon cutting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Hamilton Heights Primary School, 25350 State Road 19, Arcadia. Enter through the NW Entrance. Refreshments will be served.
Hamilton Heights School Corporation, in cooperation with the Little Huskies Learning Center, the Board of School Trustees, faculty, staff and project professionals, are excited to share in the completion of the building’s new 14,605 square-foot addition.
The wing features new and enhanced amenities, including an extensive glass atrium with moveable glass and tackable walls. This creates an agile learning environment for students. The flexible classroom walls create separate craft rooms and/or large open spaces for the Before and After Care program. The beautiful new space features a dynamic new playground for learning and play to continue outdoors.
The short dedication will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Hamilton Heights Elementary School Principal Julie Griffey and Sara Cox, Director of the Little Husky Learning Center (LHLC), followed by a little background on the addition, the project, tour, and opportunity to meet the staff.
“The Little Husky Learning Center wing is a state-of-the-art flexible learning space that is developmental and versatile for our pre-school learners,” said Griffey. “This is an innovative, must come and see for yourself learning environment.”
Project Vision Director Dori Hochstedler is excited to share more about this project.
“It’s a dynamic and engaging space that will be enjoyed by our youngest students and staff alike, the latest completed through our Project Vision Program,” said Hochstedler. “It also includes a sensory/gross motor room for our early childhood and life skills programs.”
“We are very excited to share the new preschool with our community,” added Cox, who directs the preschool program that has grown in size and scope since it first opened its doors in 2010.
LHLC is a private preschool within Hamilton Heights School Corporation, providing curriculum for children ages 3, 4 and 5 in multi-age classrooms. The Center’s Before and After School program is managed by Erika Collins.
The wing is also home to the early childhood and life skills classrooms. The early childhood program is a special education program that provides education for children ages 3 to 5. The life skills classroom, a special education program, is a part of the Hamilton Boone Madison (HBM) cooperative providing education for students in grades EC-4.
