Family and friends joined firefighters at Station 395, where the new engine will be housed, to give traditional honors of a wash down and “pushed” into its bay.
Apparatus are cared for in this manner as a reminder of its importance to safely transport firefighters to and from emergencies while suppling lifesaving resources to the Fishers community.
The engine being replaced will move into “reserve” position for the next phase of its life to step into action when a front-line piece is out for maintenance and to assist with public education details.
