Grand Park named home of National Flag Football Championship

On Tuesday, the City of Westfield and USA Football announced the Grand Park Sports Campus will host the 2020 Flag Football Championship. The national championship, called “The One,” will be among the largest youth and adult flag football tournaments in the United States. This event will mark the fourth national governing body to host an event on the campus along with US Lacrosse, USA Ultimate and USA Archery.
“We are excited to announce that Grand Park will host this national event,” said Westfield Mayor Andy Cook. “It confirms that the vision of Grand Park is coming to life as we see more and more elite organizations choosing the campus to host their events. Witnessing athletes and spectators marvel at our world-class facility is further proof that our dream is becoming a reality.”
The event includes teams across 17 divisions from ages 7 to adults. The One will be among America’s largest youth and adult flag tournaments, drawing teams from a national series of sanctioned tournaments and at-large entrants. This also marks the first time in USA Football’s 18-year history that it will sanction flag tournaments nationwide.
“Grand Park has solidified itself as a premier sports destination, making it a perfect match for flag football’s national championship,” said USA Football CEO Scott Hallenbeck. “We look forward to bringing the country’s top flag teams to Central Indiana next summer to conclude our nationally sanctioned tournament series.”
The Grand Park Sports Campus, located in Westfield, features 31 multipurpose outdoor fields, 26 baseball/softball diamonds, more than ten miles of paved trails and the Grand Park Events Center with three full-size fields, locker rooms and dining facilities. It is also the official home of the Indianapolis Colts Training Camp, making the campus an ideal location for the inaugural USA Football event.
The One” will take place July 24-26, 2020. For more information about the event and to register, click here.
