After 51 years, the remains of Vietnam War victim Alan Bardach were returned to Indiana on Thursday for burial. Bardach, whose family lived near Westfield at the time of his death, was killed in action in January 1968.

A burial with full military honors will be conducted Saturday at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. The 1 p.m. service at the Bardach family plot is open to the public, according to Bardach’s brother, Neil.

Alan Bardach, whose name appears on the Veteran’s Memorial on the Courthouse Square along with others killed in Southeast Asia, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thornton Bardach. His brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Gail Bardach, currently live in Carmel.
