Girls golf state finals begin today

The IHSAA girls golf state finals begin today at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel.
Fifteen teams and 25 individuals will compete at the two-day, 36-hole state tournament. The first players tee off at 8:30 a.m.
Three Hamilton County teams are playing at state: Carmel, Noblesville and Westfield. Guerin Catholic has two individuals playing, Angelica Pfefferkorn and Christina Pfefferkorn. The Pfefferkorn sisters will be the first county players on the course, with Angelica starting from the 10th tee at 8:30 a.m., and Christina following her off the 10th tee at 8:39 a.m.
Westfield’s team will also start off the 10th tee. The times are as follows: Brette Hanavan, 8:48 a.m.; Allie Hildebrand, 8:57 a.m.; Natalie Shupe, 9:06 a.m.; Sophie McGinnis, 9:15 a.m. and Jocelyn Bruch, 9:24 a.m. The Shamrocks will play threesomes with golfers from Gibson Southern and Lapel.
Carmel and Noblesville’s teams are paired together, and they will go off the first tee. The times are as follows: Ava Nguyen (C) and Bella Deibel (N), 8:57 a.m.; Sydney Longstreth (C) and Taylor Caldwell (N), 9:06 a.m.; Ava Hedrick (C) and Caroline Whallon (N), 9:15 a.m.; Elizabeth Hedrick (C) and Ellie Karst (N), 9:24 a.m. and Katie Kuc (C) and Sarah Brenneman (N), 9:33 a.m. NorthWood will also play in the group.
Other teams competing at the state meet are Columbus North, Crown Point, Culver Academies, Evansville Memorial, defending state champion Evansville North, Homestead, Lake Central, Penn and Zionsville.
Prairie View is located at 7000 Longest Drive in Carmel, east of the intersection of Main Street and River Road. Spectators should park in the field on the west side of River Road south of Main Street; there will be complementary shuttle service to and from the course.
