Music of all kinds at Carmel’s PorchFest

The AAA Insurance Carmel PorchFest is set for 1 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15. Carmel PorchFest is a family-friendly event that is free and open to the public.

A total of 45 musical acts will perform for attendees live on neighborhood porches. Their styles range from acoustic to electric, their sizes range from solo to ensemble, and they represent a wide variety of musical genres including rock, pop, jazz, blues and country. Acts will perform 45-minute sets.

Two musical acts that are new to the Carmel PorchFest scene include:

  • The Close – A harmonizing trio from Nashville, Tenn.
  • Elisabeth Moss – A 17-year-old singer/songwriter from Indianapolis

Performances will rotate between 19 porches in the streets of the Carmel Arts & Design District, whose owners volunteered their porches to serve as performance venues.

Attendees can bring lawn chairs to sit in front of chosen porches and/or travel from porch to porch to experience the event. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Secured bike parking will be available thanks to Pedego. Local streets will be closed to traffic. Dogs are allowed as long they are leashed.

Food and beverage vendors will be present during the event. Food options for purchase include Market District, Greeks Pizzeria and Uncle Gary’s Kettle Corn. Adult beverages for purchase (with a valid ID) include Union Brewing Company, Peace Water Winery and Tastings Vintage Truck. Additional beverage options will be onsite with and Anna & Asa’s Lemonade stand and Tropical Smoothie.
